Randy nodded. Conquerores knew or sensed this. Caeser had done it, Xerxes, Napoleon, and Hitler failed. "If Xerxes had won at Salamis," he said, "we'd all be speaking Persian-but that was a long time pre-Sputnik, and pre-ICBM. I thought the fight, now, was for space. Who controls space controls the world."

I chose this paragraph because of the historical references. It mentions all of the great leaders of old. Even if they were nut-so syphcopathes(Hitler). They were great military leaders, that rose to power through there command of the army. Except Xerxes, he was born into it, and thought he was a god-probably do to some bad childhood experience. They all conquored most of Europe in there day. Not hard to do these days, but it was quite a feet for them. I liked the violent references of the discription.

  1. Interesting passage. Get your there/their difference straight NOW, Matt; I'd like to never see that error again.
